the need for speed...
My youngest son got a new 'used' car last week. A black Chevy, 2-door, Cavalier LS Sport, 5-speed with a sunroof. Knowing how much I like manual transmission cars, he agreed to let me take it for a drive. So, he and his two buddies come over to show off the new car and promptly gave me the keys. (I am so spoiled!) I backed the car out of the drive and we took off. I decided to take it out where I could really open up the engine and I must say, it drives very nice. I miss driving a stick. All the power underneath you, just waiting to be released! WOW! Anyway, we stopped to eat dinner and on the way back home, I drove down Miracle Hills towards 114th & Dodge. The light turns green and as I am turning to go east on Dodge, I made the tires squeal. All three of them just bust out laughing, they didn't think I could do it! I opened the engine up again and it was so smooth, what a ride! I pulled back into the drive and thanked them for letting me scare them. It was a most enjoyable evening.
p.s. Later on, my son called to tell me that one of his friends thinks I am cute. *heavy sigh* ;-) reportwriter
